Husky Ambassadors play a vital role in welcoming prospective students and their families to UConn. From one-on-one shadow experiences to large-scale campus events, our Ambassadors help showcase the best of Husky Nation. Below are the signature programs you can be part of.
🐾 Husky For A Day
Husky Ambassadors serve as student hosts for the Husky-for-a-Day Program, where prospective students shadow current UConn students. Ambassadors go about their normal day while giving prospective students a firsthand look at college academics, student life, organizations, and the resources UConn has to offer.
🎉 Campus Event Greeting
Tour Check-In and Welcome Support
Ambassadors help check in guests and greet families during busy tour days and special events. Most large tours take place on Saturdays at Gant or on weekdays at the Student Union. You’ll help create a welcoming environment and guide visitors through their first impressions of UConn.
🏫 Open House Events
Ambassadors assist with our Fall Campus Visit Days and UConn Bound. You’ll be assisting with greeting and helping families navigate campus throughout the day. With different shift to sign up for, there’s plenty of ways to get involved on these days based on your availability.

🍽️ Admitted Student Lunch
Spring-Only Dining Hall Meetups
Ambassadors join admitted students and their families for lunch in the UConn dining halls. This casual event gives guests a chance to ask questions and hear firsthand what student life is like. Dining vouchers are provided for ambassadors without meal plans.
📞 Call Campaigns
Evening Phone Outreach from Tasker
Ambassadors make phone calls to prospective students from the Tasker Admissions Building to invite them to events, answer questions, and remind them of important deadlines. These events are scheduled from 5–9 PM, and dinner is provided. You choose your preferred shift!
🎓 Academic Tours
Showcase Your School or College
Trained ambassadors lead hour-long tours of academic areas and resources. These are scheduled Fridays and Saturdays at 1 PM. You’ll highlight academic spaces, study tips, and your personal experiences to help future students imagine their life at UConn.
